Judging Categoriesvehicles are judged in two main categories at Mopars at the Strip: Stock and Modified. Classes are also available for all Vipers, all Pro-modified, all Pro-street, Race Cars, Street Rod, Daily Driver stock and modified, Unclassified Stock, Unclassified Modified, PT Cruiser, and AMC stock and Modified.
StockThis class is for original-appearing vehicles, whether they are original from the factory or have been restored to look stock. Vehicles need to appear as they were when delivered to the dealership as new, with original-looking interiors and exterior paint colors consistent with the factory options available for that year, make, and model. The car must be consistent with the buildsheet. Number matching is not a must at this show. Vehicles may have up to two modifications, such as tires, wheels, stereo, etc., to remain in this class.
Modified ClassThis class will be judged on the extent and quality of your modifications. If you have a stock-appearing vehicle with a set of Crager's on it, you may want to be in the stock class. Please list the modifications you have done on your vehicle, and leave the list on the seat of your car for the judges to see. The judges should be made aware of the time and effort you have spent on your car. Custom paint, tires, wheels, headers, engine swaps, and so on are welcome in this class. Points are deducted in this class for stock items.
Pro-Street ClassThis class is for all vehicles that have wheeltubs, hi-rise manifolds, blowers, etc. As a general rule, to be in this class you must have wheeltubs. Vehicles will be judged upon the owner's creativity and the craftsmanship of the vehicle.
Race Car ClassThis class is all road racers, drag racers, stock cars, off-road Mopar race vehicles, etc.
General Show information we are still working on several details in the car show and judging categories. There has been a lot of interest in O.E. Certification judging because of the high caliber of rare cars that attended Mopars at the Strip in 2003. If you would be interested in O.E. Certification at this year's event, please contact us at moparsatthestrip@hotmail.com; Mopars at the Strip, 2251 N. Rampart #280, Las Vegas, NV, 89128; 702/256-8254.
If there are more than eight cars that qualify for a class split by manufacture, e.g., Dodge, Plymouth, we will split the class.
With the popularity of clone cars, if there is enough interest we will start a class for them. This can be accomplished by pre-entering your vehicle early. Make a notation on your entry fee that you would like the car to be entered in the clone class. If we have more than five requests for a clone class in your body model, we will make a class. If there aren't enough cars for your own class, you will have to decide between stock and modified.
Car Show ScheduleWe would like all car show participants to have their vehicles in place by 10 a.m. on Friday, March 19. (This will give the judges adequate time to spend on each and every vehicle.) Judging will take place all day on Friday. Judges will begin with start-up procedures. As part of the judging procedures, all judged vehicles will go through a system checklist to determine if the following systems are functioning properly: lights, turn indicators, horn, fan switch, ease of vehicle starting and idle, wipers, radio, etc. Upon completion, the judges will come back through the class and judge off the judging sheets. If all judging is not completed by the end of the day on Friday, it will resume on Saturday, March 20. Judges will have specially-colored judging shirts, so you will recognize them.
Vehicle displayVehicles will be displayed in classes. Maps and layouts will be available for contestants when they pre-register their vehicle.
