We would like to welcome you to Mopars at the Strip, held at the fabulous Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mopars at the Strip is a truly unique all-Mopar event. Where else can you hang out with your car buddies during the day, and enjoy the unlimited Las Vegas entertainment at night? Mopars at the Strip has more to do and see than any Mopar event anywhere. Remember to get lots of sleep before you leave home because this is Las Vegas-the town that never sleeps.
As Mopar enthusiasts ourselves, we thought it would be a great idea to build an all-Mopar show around some of our favorite car events. When it comes to drag racing, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway features one of the premier drag strips in the world. LVMS is a master-planned race facility of over 1,600 acres, and more than 18 separate race venues. We feature a full drag-race schedule with the richest pay-out of any all-Chrysler drag race in the West. Combine one of the fastest tracks in the country with some of the most awesome Mopar race cars anywhere, and you have a sure-fire winning combination.
Mopars at the Strip offers some events that are unique. First, there's the Dodge Truck and Jeep 4x4 Off-Road Poker Run-combining the fun of an off-road trail ride with the scenic beauty of the Southwest Desert. Throw in the element of surprise with a poker hand, and there you have it. The person with the best poker hand at the end of the trail ride wins. Another event unique to Mopars at the Strip is the Dodge truck/Cummins diesel dyno pull. The concept is to take a pickup truck and strap it to a rolling dynamometer machine that measures true horsepower and torque at the rear wheels. At Mopars at the Strip, you will also have the opportunity to compete in the Mopar Muscle True Street Challenge. Eight contestants will be chosen to compete in this year's event. In a nutshell, the True Street Challenge combines appearance, drivability, reliability, and best timed-run down the quarter-mile. the cool part is it will all be documented in the pages of Mopar Muscle Magazine.
Like most Mopar events there will be a huge car show with over 40 judged classes and a popular choice class. There are also plenty of spaces for those of you that just want to display your vehicle. Last year's show had a large number of very beautiful and unique vehicles.
There will also be a huge manufactures midway with all of your favorite manufactures and vendors. And, of course, what is a show without a swap meet and car corral. Vendors will have a great supply of unique southwest commodities, such as rust-free sheetmetal.
What better place to showcase your finished project than an all-Mopar event? "Restoration as an Art" pavilion will feature some of the finest restoration companies in the business. They will display some of their most recent restorations and creations. Be sure to stop by and see the latest in restoration technology and supplies.
After a full day of Mopar fun, you might think you would be ready to head back to the hotel and bed, then it hits you-you're in Vegas! Did we mention the nightly cruise and party at the Cannery Hotel and Casino? So, it's official, there really is something for everyone at Mopars at the Strip.
