The Mopars at the Strip awards ceremony for the Car show winners is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. we will also be giving away a '73 Plymouth Duster to one lucky winner. The proceeds from the raffle (after costs) will benefit The Southern Nevada Fire Fighters Burn Foundation and The Speedway Children's Charities. Raffle tickets can be acquired for a $5 donation until noon on Sunday. The winning person does not have to be present to win.
The names of the car show winners will be posted in the car show registration tent after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. All winners must pick up their awards at the car show registration tent at this time. (Trophies will not be mailed after the show.) All winners must be present at the Parade of Champions on Sunday morning, and are asked to fill out the 3x5 cards that are attached to the backs of their awards with information they would like to have announced over the public address system as the participant makes their way through the parade. Each winner should be ready by Sunday, 10:30 a.m. at the west end of the racetrack. they will receive instructions about the Parade of Champions down the return lane.
This year we are allowing all winning car show participants to make a slow parade-pass down the return lane so that everyone in the stands can see all the car show winners.
There will be a photo opportunity at the starting line area during the announcement of the winners. At the conclusion of the Parade of Champions, you are free to return to the car show area. Please refrain from doing burnouts or racing down the return road. Any violators' names will not be listed in any post-event publications.
Best of show winners will be photographed for the following categories: A-, B-, C-, -E, and F-body for stock, clone/restified, and modified, Truck, Mopar Performance Best of Show, Popular Choice Best of Show, Best Appearing Race Car, Mopar Muscle Best of Show, Mopar Collector's Guide Best of Show, Mopar Action Best of Show, and-new for this year-winner of The World's Ultimate Mopar.
The Awards ceremony is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until noon. During this time the staff at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will do the necessary track preparations for the elimination rounds. There will be no racing at this time. Racing will resume at noon after all track preparations are complete.
