If you're into wing cars, Monster Mopar has a grouping at the show that will make you smile. The Winged Warrior group also allows all NASCAR-bred Mopars in the group, so a few Charger 500s were also present.
It's a yearly pilgrimage. People from all over the country flock to the outskirts of the busy metropolis of St. Louis, Missouri, and converge on Gateway International Raceway for the Monster Mopar Weekend. The Monster Mopar event has definitely earned its name by covering the infield of the big oval and completely inundating the drag racing facility on the grounds. And why not? The Monster Mopar boasts the largest racing payout at an all-Mopar event. Blessed with nice weather, the '05 show was a complete success.
If you're into watching racing, quite possibly the largest class at the event-and the most fun to watch-had to be the Nostalgia Super Stock. This is how racing looked in the early years, and for any true musclecar guy or gal, watching these guys run their cars flat out is a blast. The Monster Mopar event draws a lot of restored and modified iron, and there is a show class for everyone.
So, if you didn't make it last year, make plans now to attend this year's Monster Mopar on September 9 and 10.

If you were looking for used parts, then the swap meet was the area to be. The Monster Mopar show continually has a large swap meet with vendors not wanting to take anything home, and buyers willing to help them out.
