2008 Mopars At The Strip - Desert Oasis

Dave Valfer placed an SRT8 6.1-liter Hemi under the hood of his '71 'Cuda. The combination of grey paint with charcoal accent strips and wheels sets the car off.

This is one of the cleanest engine bays you are ever going to find. All the wires have been properly hidden, and the battery has been relocated to free up more space. The fuel-injected Hemi has been painted to match the interior and the rest of the car.

Robert and Stacy Ediger were proud to show off their ultra-rare Panther Pink '70 340 Duster. This one came with a 727 automatic and Inferno Black bucket seats. The paint and body were taken care of by Roberts Auto Body that painted it the original Panther Pink color.

These racers prepared their cars in the staging lanes for the Super Pro Class.

It's got a cop motor, a 440ci plant, cop tires, cop suspensions, and cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. The '74 Dodge Monaco Bluesmobile seems like a concept done almost as often as the Duke boys' Charger. Rarely, though, do we see one this closely built to the movie car.

It would be both cool and scary to see this Barracuda patrolling the streets. There wouldn't be much hope of escaping this sheriff-themed hot rod.

Wheelstands were common occurrence as the tires and suspension struggled to control the power of these Mopars.

There were plenty of Vipers racing down the strip. This '08 SRT10 features a set of custom wheels and the new 600-horse Vette-killing V-10.

We caught the Hemi Under Glass Barracuda during some warm-up passes. With a rear-mounted Hemi, the 'Cuda had no trouble staying on the bumper the whole length of the track.

How often do you see a minivan pull both tires?
