'66 Belvedere I
415 horsepower

Bryan's Belvedere definitely made an impression when it first rolled into our AMSOIL/Mopar Muscle dyno area at the Mopar Nats. It had a great look to it, and the sound was unmistakable--it was the sound of horsepower. Bryan has owned his ride for about five years, and tells us, "When I first saw the '66 Belvedere, it became my first love, but don't tell my wife". Ok Bryan we won't.

The boxy Belvee plays the part of a powerhouse, thanks to a Muscle motors built 477-inch Hemi, The block is filled with Muscle Motors-spec crankshaft, Eagle rods, and Ross pistons. Under the cast cylinder heads, this combination is good for a 13.5:1 compression ratio. The dual Edelbrock carburetors and MSD ignition fire it off, and the tti 3-inch exhaust aids in letting you hear it for yourself.

Making the ride even more fun is a Passon Performance build Hemi overdrive four-speed transmission, and finally a Strange built rear end houses a Sure Grip and 3.55 gears.

The Belvedere is an unassuming Polar White, and according to Bryan, is all original.

Unfortunately for Bryan, an ignition miss plagued his Hemi, and he couldn't get it to cleanly spin past 5,000 rpm. That left him a little disappointed with only 415 horsepower at the wheels. We would have liked to see it spin harder to see what it would have made, and you can see the video of Bryan's pull below.
