Jon Brooks
Zanesville, Ohio
'08 Charger Superbee
381 horsepower

A controversial body style and name combination, the introduction of the 2006 Dodge Charger was greeted by a love it or hate it crowd. John brooks is a "love it" kind of guy, especially when the Superbee package was introduced. Since he lives a mere 20-some miles from National Trail Raceway, Jon didn't have to make much of a road trip to the Mopar Nats to join in our challenge. Jon is s a retired teacher, so grading his 'Bee on the dyno was a certainty. He never told us what he thought his final grade should be, but we'll give him an A. From the factory, Jon's Superbee came with a 6.1 Hemi in it, and he hasn't made any substantial modifications to it. But like any true hot rodder, he has since added some small upgrades like an Airaid cold air kit with an inlet tube that meets the opening in the hood for true fresh-air. More air means you can also use more fuel, so he also installed a Diablosport tune calibrated for 93 octane unleaded gasoline.

Jon's 'Bee was included in our non-power adder class were he netting a best horsepower of 381 at the rear tires. Enjoying 381 RWHP, a smooth idle, air-conditioning, and plenty of conveniences, makes it hard to complain about late-model Mopars, just ask Jon.
