BUT, 824 lb/ft of torque (we thought we felt the dyno move!)
We only had one diesel powered Mopar in the showdown, and that was owned by Patrick Friel. He purchased his 2004 Diesel-powered Ram a mere five weeks before the shotout. While spinning the big wheel on the dyno, 370 horsepower might not seem like a lot, but when you remember that his Cummins engine only has six cylinders, it's not all that bad. But, we're fairly certain that even you guys with big horsepower V-8's couldn't muster as torque at Patrick's Ram. Patrick's Ram is basically stock, but he did add a straight through exhaust--or does that mean he removed... He also added a Diablosport tuner, and the injectors have been changed to add even more power. Since a diesel Ram comes from the factory with a factory turbocharger installed, he ran in the power adder class. For this reason, for next year's shootout, we're adding a diesel only class, which will be measured by torque instead of horsepower.
