Keith Brunn a steel fabricator by trade, decided that it would be fun to strap his Alpine White '70 Satellite to the Numbers Don't Lie Dyno, and see what happens. Well, the mill in Keith's B-Body is a .030-inch over bored 440, with Eagle H-beam connecting rods, a factory forged-crankshaft, and Diamond pistons. Under the ported 906 heads, the rotating assembly makes a very streetable 10.2:1 compression ratio. Add to that, a Comp Cams .510-inch lift hydraulic camshaft, roller rockers, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and 750 Demon carburetor, and you get a respectable street engine that makes 332 horsepower at the rear wheels. That power is sent through a 727 with an ATI 3,500 rpm torque converter and finally back to a 3.91-geared 8-3/4 rear with a Sure Grip.

With its mild camshaft and pump gas-friendly compression ratio, this big-block is identical to many 440s found in a lot of Mopars around the country. And we're certain that the 1-7/8-inch headers, 3-inch exhaust, and Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers make a great sounding ride. We're certain, because we heard it singing at 5,500 rpm.

To gussy up his Satellite just a little bit, Keith not only removed the satellite-specific trim, he also added a Performance hood, and GTX grille after an incident involving a tree. Richmond Ford gets credit for the shiny stuff.
