As if to hint at things to come, notice the stock four-lamp grill has been replaced by a Hemi-specific two-lamp item, as seen on all A864 Race Hemi Dodges in 1964. We can positively conclude Flynn had not yet upgraded to the Race Hemi by inspecting the headers. Wedge heads have nearly horizontal exhaust port outlets, while Hemis point down toward the strip. The Mark III fender wall headers seen here do not fit a Hemi. Why the Hemi grill was installed before the Hemi engine is unknown. The turn signal lamps in the front bumper will soon be eliminated (see next picture).
