The absence of the Max Wedge fender wall headers peeking out from behind the front tires is proof Flynn was running a Hemi by the time this photo was taken. Still riding on the stock torsion bar front suspension and class-mandated 7-inch slicks, Flynn undoubtedly struggled to utilize the full 550-plus horsepower off the line. For reasons unknown, Flynn retained the Wedge-style dual-hump hoodscoop. Factory Hemi installations utilized a larger scoop with a flatter top and undivided, rectangular air opening. It is unknown if Flynn used the Hemi-specific K-member and passenger side shock absorber mount stamping (PN 2460988) or fabricated his own mounts.
