In 1968 the Fury underwent some small styling changes, and available engines were the 225 Slant Six, 318, a two-barrel 383 Commando, 383 Super Commando (equipped with a four-barrel and special cam per the dealer brochure), or the four-barrel Super Commando 440. You could either grind-your-own gears, as available transmissions were a three speed manual, four speed manual, or, if you didn't want to shift, a TorqueFlite automatic was also an option. With series like VIP, Fury I, Fury II, Fury III, Sport Fury, and Suburban, and the body styles (two-door Fast Top, two-door hardtop, two-door sedan, four-door hardtop, four-door sedan, convertible, and wagon, you were given the choice of 27 available configurations. The rarest option for the 1968 Fury was the four speed manual transmission with floor-mounted shifter.
