Once the deal was struck, the Polara was sent to Jacksonville, Florida, stored in a container, and shipped to Southampton, England. Unfortunately, not all the car made it across the Atlantic. One of the vintage black and yellow California plates and a set of N.O.S. wiper blades went missing before the shipping container arrived in Southampton.
Regardless, the Polara now resides with Robert, winning awards at nearly every show it attends. at the Mopar Euronats, Robert took home the Chrysler Cup award, and the UK-based automotive magazine, Classic America, picked Robert's car for their choice, making it eligible for the Car of the Year award.
As of this writing, Robert believes his Polara to be the only '63 hardtop in the UK, and, quite possibly, the only one with a 426 Max Wedge engine as well.
As Robert can testify, the legend of classic Mopars has spanned across borders, continents, oceans, and generations.
