Demort71 5pts No doubt the owner did a lot of work to bring this truck back to health. However, the aftermarket wheels were a big turn-off to me. He went to a lot of work to make the engine compartment show original, yet he didn't even choose (at least) slotted aftermarket mags to mimic the look of the original chromed steel wheels that all LREs wore and are famous for. Ansen makes nice slotted mags (their Sprint model) in 15X8 and 15X7 sizes, featuring polished aluminum. I have a 78 LRE and that is how I intend to put the rubber to the asphalt, even though I have the original wheels and they are in great shape. I was disappointed in this example of the LRE for that reason. Otherwise it looks really good. Also, why wasn't there a little more history in the actual magazine about the LRE line rather than blowing pics of the truck? We all know a little over 7,000 were made in their two year run. When did production start and could you just order one any time you wanted? I think the writer shorted us in that respect.
