2005 Dodge Magnum Borla Tailpipe
With the x-shaped pipe in place, we hung the tailpipes from the rear hanger, but left the front hanger loose. This allowed us plenty of space to fit the mufflers in-between before tightening all the connections.

2005 Dodge Magnum Borla Mufflers
With our exhaust installed and the tailpipes located in the center of the rear valance cutouts, we can finally tighten all the clamps. Once tightened, we started the car while on the lift and checked for leaks. With none found, we're ready for a testdrive.

2005 Dodge Magnum Left Tailpipe

2005 Dodge Magnum Rear Exhaust
The Borla system not only has a more aggressive look than the factory exhaust, it sounds more aggressive as well. The system has a nice note at idle, and at part-throttle cruise it is no louder than stock. When opened up, however, the exhaust has a deep growl that states "don't mess with me." We didn't have the chance to take the Magnum to the track after the installation, but our seat-of-the-pants feeling ensures that we'll see an improvement on our 9.40-second, eighth-mile baseline. Stay tuned as we'll further modify this vehicle in future issues and keep you posted on what performance level we achieve.

Next to the stock exhaust, the Borla system looks much more aggressive. The larger tips really fill out the cutouts in the rear valence and look as if they belong on the Magnum. The tips are chrome-plated as well for a good look that will last a long time.
