13. Although an older design intake, bridging the gap between the intake runners is a Weiand X-celerator intake manifold, part number 7545. More could be had if using a newer-design intake, but this is what we had. The small-runner Weiand single-plane intake received extensive porting, but was still short of the optimal size for the cylinder heads when maxed out, with the small cross-sectional area proving to limit peak power rpm. We suspect that a similarly modified Edelbrock Super Victor or Holley Strip Dominator would have added a few hundred rpm to peak.
