The Plymouth Mule car was built to test parts for the following year’s upcoming Super Stock entries. Being a Mule car, the plan was to run the Barracuda as hard as they could until things failed, and then the engineers would know the limits. Apparently it was an indestructible animal, as it’s restored and still living.
