Chrysler's nemesis, in the early part of the 1963 at least, was an old hand from Florida and the Chevrolet 427 Mystery engine... a hybrid of porcupine cylinder heads and 348-409 cylinder block. It was a few steps away from becoming the 396 Rat motor (introduced in the early spring of 1965). The car ran away from everyone, tipping speeds of 166 mph. View Related Article
