This is the ’68 Hurst Hemi Barracuda of Jack Werst’s at York, Pennsylvania, in 1970 at the Super Stock Magazine Nationals. Jack was a factory warranty representative in the Philadelphia region, and was sponsored by the factory through the local dealership association. As a result of his employment, he was also privy (and subjected) to a lot of the racing politics of the era. The Mr. 5 and 50 represented the five-year/50,000 warranties that he himself often had to check into. Jack also campaigned a Superbird during this time. Here it is repainted, but original in many ways, in a photo taken at the 2010 York Reunion.
