Sox & Martin were the big names for the factory in the brand-new Pro Stock class when the class made its formal debut at Pomona in the early weeks of 1970. The car seen here is the one that Ronnie would take to the final against Bill Jenkins on Sunday afternoon; my opinion is that is Dave Christie authoritatively leaning on that rear fender (Dave, let us know if that is really your 1970 hairdo). The transporter shown is rarely seen from this angle and is the absolute state-of-the-art design for this time period. The other image is from York, Pennsylvania, later in the year and shows the Superbird (still MIA in the collector world) usually driven by Joe Fisher.
