Mecum Kansas City took place this past weekend, and 3:00 p.m. Saturday found this beautiful 1970 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda on the block in search of new ownership. Only 368 Hemi automatics were ever built, and this ‘Cuda in particular features an all-numbers matching R-Code Hemi 426 engine which puts out 425 horsepower. Two 4-barrel carburetors sit atop the engine (also numbers correct) as well as an aluminum intake. It was Mecum Kansas City’s second best seller, fetching $160,000.

A D32 A727 Torqueflite transmission delivers the power to the wheels, and an A32 9.75 Dana 60 Performance axle resides in the rear, while suspension work is handled by heavy-duty torsion and sway bars. Stopping power is supplied by B51 power disc brakes, and an N41 dual-exhaust with N42 chrome tips makes the ‘Cuda truly roar to life when the key is turned.

The head-turner wears a beautiful coat of original Alpine White paint (EW1) and is equipped with an N96 Shaker hood. A space-saver spare, jack, and canister are included with sale, as well as rotisserie restoration photographs.

Perfection of the car is guaranteed thanks to a complete in-person visual inspection by Galen Govier, with the report also included with sale.
