Mopar’s Latest Top Eliminators
Mopar’s 2013 Top Eliminator program -- recognizing Mopar enthusiasts who display unmatched skill in modifying or preserving a classic or modern-day Mopar vehicle -- hose New Jersey native Bill Mann’s ’70 Dodge Charger R/T, and Miles Watsko’s ’64 Plymouth Savoy from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Both cars were part of the big Mopar display at this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise in suburban Detroit.
Mann’s Charger was picked at this year’s Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals, while Watsko’s Super Stock-look Savoy was honored at Midwest Mopars’ huge Midwest Mopars In The Park show in June.
The third Mopar Top Eliminator had yet to be named at press time -- Mopar will choose it from the field of Sportsman racers competing at NHRA’s U.S. Nationals, and the fourth Top Eliminator will be selected in an online vote.
Blueprinting Made Easy
What do you think when you hear the term blueprinting? If you don’t think of the process where you measure, adjust, machine, and fit each engine part to precision tolerances, you need to add Mike Mavrigan’s new book from CarTech Books, Modern Engine Blueprinting Techniques: A Practical guide to Precision Engine Building to your shop’s bookshelf.
That’s because it’s loaded with over 500 photos (in a 192-page book) that detail how to assemble your next engine so it will produce more horsepower and torque, run cooler, and burn fuel efficiently -- and last longer. It covers the block, crank, connecting rods, pistons, cylinder heads, intake manifolds, measuring tools and final assembly techniques.
Why not add blueprinting to your in-the-shop skill set…and Modern Engine Blueprinting Techniques: A Practical guide to Precision Engine Building to your library?

Air When You Need It
How many times have you said, “I need a compressor in my tool box”? (Like the last time you needed to use a pneumatic tool away from your garage or shop...like at the track?)
Viair’s line-up of portable air compressors are just what you need to take pneumatic power out of your garage or shop to remote jobsites, to the pits on race weekends, or any place you need compressed air.
Features include a quick-connect coupling, a pressure gauge, an air filter element with replaceable air filtration media, and a vibration-resistant sand tray. Many models also include a deluxe carry bag for simple stowage and increased portability, and all of Viair’s portable compressors, except for their Automatic models, are shipped complete with an open-ended (free-flowing) air delivery hose.
