Now that our ’87 D150 project truck is almost complete and we’re able to drive it, we want to make it secure from predators. We called our friends at Crutchfield to help us pick the best security system for our needs. Crutchfield suggests that we have a system with a two-stage shock sensor, glass tampering sensor, two-stage two-zone motion sensor, starter disable, and keyless entry. Additionally, Crutchfield recommends a separate kit with door lock actuators so the doors will automatically lock when the alarm is set.

Fortunately, we discovered this was a very simple kit to install and is programmable to the owner’s liking. Follow along and see how it’s done.
