01] Our ’64 Dodge Polara came with factory drum brakes, which we removed as complete assemblies in order to install the Wilwood disc brakes. Note the hole we drilled in the rear drum to access the axle retaining nuts. These early Mopars had two-piece rear axles and ours were corroded to the point we couldn’t get them apart. Since we’re installing aftermarket axles anyway, we found it easier to drill these holes and remove the axle and brake assembly together.
