The late 1971-and-up flat intake port worked so well with only the template-bowl work described in Part I, we decided to try additional mods with the modified 2.08-inch factory valve. The first step was to blend the guide-boss web into the roof and pocket. In contrast to the early port, this form was easy to achieve with the late port, with minimal material removal. Note that in this test, the grinding did not extend far down the roof, or in front of the guide boss. Airflow picked up substantially. View Related Article
