With a baseline established, the supercharger and water injection were hooked up, and the carb changed to a special blow-through Holley 750 designed for supercharged applications. After a little tuning, the supercharged 318 made an impressive 662.7 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 587.5 lb/ft of torque at 5,800 rpm at a maximum of 14.59 psi of boost. The following dyno numbers show the dramatic difference the supercharger made. We'd say Hughes Engines and The Supercharger Store made this little engine a lot bigger, attaining big-block numbers from this little 318.
