07 The Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold offers more plenum volume than stock or early aftermarket intakes like the one we’re replacing. This intake is slightly taller than a stock intake, but still didn’t pose any hood clearance problem in our C-Body. Dual-plane intake manifolds by design only allow each cylinder to see two of the four barrels of the carburetor. The Edelbrock intake incorporates a design that we used to do ourselves with a grinder. This notch allows all four barrels of the carb to feed both sides of the dual-plane intake, improving performance.
