The whole vacuum process takes only a few seconds. The vinyl-filled framework is lowered over the pieces to be covered and the vacuum forms the vinyl over the dash. When the vinyl is formed, water is sprayed on the dash to cool the vinyl so it will hold its shape once the vacuum is turned off.
