1968 Plymouth Barracuda Drag Race Car - Wedged To The Max
After installing our heads and rocker assemblies, we were all set to degree the camshaft. Remember that high lift roller cams must be degreed when installed. When these cams are ground, the machinist will find the highest point of lobe lift on the core and grind the cam on that reference, not on the timing reference on the front of the cam. The result is a much more precise cam grind, which must be degreed to operate properly. Using the extra marks and keyways on our timing set, we advanced our cam timing by six degrees to achieve proper cam timing. View Related Article
