383 Stroker Build Main
Our little 432 stroker motor looks really racy with the Victor 383 manifold, electric water pump, and external oil filter plumbing. But with a conservative 10.0:1 compression, driving down to the local cruise night is a viable option.

383 Stroker Build Internals
Our rotating assembly for our 432 consists of I-beam rod forgings from 440Source, while the crank is a rescued piece from a 413. In this picture, the 413 crank has had its counterweights trimmed down, but the journals are not yet finished. The main journals needed to be turned down .125-inch to fit in the 383 block, while the rod journals were finished at .010-inch undersized.
383 Stroker Build Clearance
We had to grind the bottom of each cylinder for just a little bit of clearance for the rod bolts. The area in the 383's bottom end is just a little tighter than a 440, so you have to double-check to make sure that everything clears ok.
383 Stroker Build Pistons
Diamond Racing has the pistons on the shelf to turn your 383 into a healthier 432. we used PN 51950 in this buildup. They are flat-tops with big valve reliefs and are designed for a 4.280x3.750-inch bore and stroke, a 440 length rod, and a .990-inch wrist pin. These pistons weigh 544 grams and come with a 158-gram pin.
