Each piston has one oil and two compression rings that need to be slipped on-in that order. Just put one end of the ring in the groove and gently wrap it around the piston, being careful not to scratch the outside of the piston with the other end as it slips over the top. Rotate the end gaps so they are on opposing sides. Press each half of the rod bearings into the rod and its cap by hand. Press with your thumbs on the ends of the bearing, do not press on the bearing surface. The surface behind each bearing must be clean and dry. Note that the bearing has a tab that must fit into the notch on each journal. Do the same for the main bearings in the block. View Related Article
