Check out the photo, and you'll see the pages devoted to Bobby Harrop's Flying Carpet and Bill Flynn's Yankee Peddler and their altered wheelbase factory Dodge FX'ers. Did you know that at the time, Flynn was a 25-year-old ex-paratrooper from the 101st Airborn Division? Or that his sponsor, Sanford Dodge, gave him his first 426 Race Hemi as a prize after beating Arnie Beswick at the '64 NHRA Summer Nationals on Labor Day weekend at Indy? You would if you had this book. So take a closer look at those stacks of used paperbacks at swap meets, yard sales, and library clearance sales. For August, our picture came from Todd and Dora Law of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. It's a picture of their 5-year-old son getting the proper training. Our best caption reply came from Paul Reppa of Cedar Lake, Indiana. His caption was: "OK, I installed the new shocks, pinion snubber, and gear fluid, now can I drive it?" For his caption Paul will receive a Mopar Muscle license plate.
