Although Ronnie didn't win the '70 NHRA U.S. Nationals, a Sox & Martin team car driven by fellow North Carolinian Herb McCandless did. Here, McCandless leaves almost dead-on with "Akron Arlen" Vanke in a heads-up duel between Hemi 426-powered Plymouth Dusters.
