Welcome to the premiere Mopar car show of the year—The 34th Annual Nationals - Chrysler Car Club Convention. This year's event celebrates a lot of anniversaries, one being the 100th Anniversary of Dodge. 1914 was the year that the Dodge Brothers went out on their own. They would no longer be under Mr. Ford; they formed their own car company. History has shown the many firsts they brought to automotive production, while keeping their legendary reputation of reliability and durability. This year also marks the 50th Anniversary of the 426 Hemi. What's to say, its remains the most legendary engine ever produced, and highly sought after in classic Mopars. We are also celebrating the Scat Pack Club, which is 45 years old this year. The cars with Bumble Bee Stripes...and while all this celebration is going on, National Trail Raceway is also celebrating its 50th Anniversary as well. Each Anniversary will have separate displays, with special guests and vehicles on display. You won't want to miss them.
Each year after the event we sit down and read the survey responses from the participants, and review the event for possible changes that will improve the show and make for a better experience. Additional judging classes for the late-model cars have been added, as well as drag racing classes that include a Gambler's race. Other changes are in the works. We will continue to listen, so make sure you take the time to fill out the survey located on the back of your confirmation letter. If you're not pre-registered for the event, just drop us a note through the mail or e-mail, letting us know your thoughts. We would like to encourage participants to continue to bring their classic Mopars to the event, as this is the foundation of the show and what most people want to see. We also appreciate the new modern muscle, and the great modifications that people have been doing to these cars. With the new 2015 Dodge Challenger sporting the 1971 styling cues, the Shaker and Scat Pack editions, as well as the long awaited SRT HellCat, it's great that high performance offerings from Chrysler continue.
This year's show will again feature 1,500+ vendor spaces, upwards of 3,000 cars, and close to 50,000 die-hard enthusiasts for the weekend. They're all here for the drag racing, car show and OE Certification, Manufacturer Midway, Car Corral, special guest appearances, and activities for the kids. This all combines to make this a great summer weekend of everything Mopar. In addition, The Nats will feature some new, night time activities along with the cruising. Tri-County Chrysler will be holding a mini car show on Friday and Saturday nights, along the Heath cruise route. Food, beverages and live music will be offered to Nats participants. This year's Friday and Saturday Night Super Cruise's will again be featured in downtown Heath, where you can cruise or just sit back and watch all the fun. The Nats is three action-packed days and nights of Mopar Madness.
Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors! Their support enables us to bring you, the ultimate Mopar event. Sponsorship does not come easy in these hard economic times. A Big shout out to Bob Malcom Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep, Indy Cylinder Head, Mopar Muscle magazine, Trailer World, and Irwin's Racing engines. All have stepped up to help support this year's show. Make sure you remember these companies the next time you need parts and service for your Mopar, as they are supporting you and the hobby. We would also like to thank the many vendors and swappers that come out to the show. Whether you're selling new, reproduction or NOS parts, or you are cleaning out your garage to get some extra money for the next project the event needs you. Of course, another big thank you goes out to the participants and spectators for coming out to the event. Without you there would be no show, thank you for your continued support. We sincerely hope everyone enjoys the 34th Annual Nationals – the Ultimate Mopar Experience!
